Another option you might want to consider is to buy a reconditioned Precor elliptical machine. Quite often, manufacturers and large sports stores will rebuild their machines and sell them this way. That means that they have possibly replaced the motor and any other broken parts. It may not be a brand new machine, but often it will operate just like it is. And it could give you a lot of years of wear and tear.
Reconditioned machines are sold by several stores online, including Big Fitness and others. Just Google "reconditioned Precor elliptical machine" and you will find many different listings to check out. As always, find out what the warranty is and how long it lasts.
